Building Information Modeling

Traditional 2D design means that blueprints will not show additional intimation or links to associated documents. A designer is unable to model their work in 3D or cooperate on designs. As a consequence, all works are slower and it is more difficult to observe the required standards. The 3D design standard is now obligatory in some countries (for public projects), and works with the intention to implement it are underway in some others. In Poland the design standard has been implemented by many construction, production and developer companies.

A&M Michałowski E.I.T.C, seeing the growing demand associated with the growth and development of BIM technologies in Poland and around the world, began the process of implementing BIM technologies in its design workshop. This implementation will allow us to provide you with a digital three-dimensional model, adding a new quality to your investment.

Revit Collaboration Suite is a Building Information Modelling software developed by Autodesk for architects, engineers, mechanical, electrical as well as water and sewage designers as well as contractors. It makes it possible for users to design and build a building and elements thereof in 3D, to implement 2D drawing elements into 3D and ensures access to structural information from collaborative building model data databases.

Revit 4D uses tools for planning and following during various building lifecycle stages, from tits concept, through construction to its subsequent demolition. The BIM technology is a method for designing and executing investments based on a three-dimensional digital building model. It improves the investment process at every stage of its execution - design, scheduling, cost estimation, execution and managing a completed building. The cohesive collaborative model makes it possible to predict and avoid many costly collisions already at the design stage. The model also facilitates faster and simpler communication between all investment process participants (Designer, Contractor, Investor, Manager).

The BIM acronym stands for a number of attributes, wherein each is a significant, albeit not exclusive element.

Building Information Model is a digital record of the physical and functional building properties, used as knowledge bases and all building data, fully accessible to all investment process participants.

Building Information Modelling is a creative process for generating and using building data, regarding its design, construction and use across the entire lifecycle.

Building Information Management represents control and management of investment processes, entailing the use of digital building model parameters to exchange information on asset components throughout the entire investment cycle.

Based on such explanations, one might venture to say that BIM applies to every structure - and not only buildings. Thus, on the one hand, BIM represents the development of a 3D digital model with a complete set of graphical and functional information, and on the other hand - the definition of the entire investment process and management thereof. Thus, the technology may be used whenever any construction takes place - roads, bridges, rail and industrial facilities, power generation units, public amenity and private buildings. Through BIM information collected during planning and design may be used and networked with additional design data as well as assets collected during the construction stage.
